Hello
Person-Centred Counselling in Rugby, Warwickshire & Online

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist based in Rugby, Warwickshire, with over six years’ experience supporting adults both locally and across the UK through online/phone counselling. I trained at the University of Warwick and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My approach is warm, down-to-earth and compassionate. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, at your own pace. Alongside my general practice, I have developed particular experience in supporting people with relationship difficulties, parents and carers, and those navigating significant life changes.

If you need support urgently, please know you are not alone. You can seek assistance through the crisis numbers listed on my ‘Further Support’ page.

How I Work
As a person-centred counsellor in Rugby, I believe your experience is unique and cannot be measured or compared. There is no “right” way to feel. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work with you to explore the underlying causes of your difficulties. I aim to understand your world from your perspective, without judgement or expectation. You are free to bring whatever feels important — there is no pressure to be any particular way.
I do not see emotional distress purely as a medical issue, though counselling can work alongside other forms of support if needed.
A Relational Approach to Healing
Many of our struggles develop in response to environments that have not fully supported or understood us, perhaps it has even felt hostile to you. Over time, this can affect how we see ourselves, what we believe we deserve, and what we feel is possible. When our needs for safety, connection, and recognition are not met, it can be difficult to thrive - people need the right conditions to flourish.

Just as we would not expect a plant to grow if it were starved of light, food and water;
people cannot thrive if they do not have their practical, safety, love or recognition needs met.
Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, I aim to help you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and move towards a more fulfilling and manageable way of living.

Areas I Can Support You With
Relationship Difficulties
Relationships can be one of the most meaningful — and challenging — parts of life. You may be experiencing conflict, feeling disconnected, struggling with communication, or noticing patterns that repeat across relationships.
Together, we can explore how your past experiences may be influencing your relationships today, helping you to better understand your needs, boundaries, and ways of connecting with others.
Support for Parents and Carers
Being a parent or carer can be deeply rewarding, but also emotionally demanding and, at times, isolating. You might feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure how to balance your own needs alongside caring for others.
I offer a space where you can step out of your role for a moment and focus on yourself — your feelings, your identity, and the challenges you are carrying.

Life Transitions – Menopause, Midlife & Change
Life transitions such as menopause, midlife, or other significant changes can bring uncertainty, loss, or a sense of questioning who you are and what comes next. You may be experiencing shifts in mood, identity, relationships, or direction in life. Therapy can offer a space to reflect, process change, and reconnect with a sense of meaning and self-understanding during these periods.
